Just an FYI: nope, not dead... but many of you have probably noticed that I've not updated here in a long time. I'm not sure if I will anymore; my goals have changed and I'm in a different place in life. I've got a new job, which keeps me busy, and I'm trying not to "diet" anymore.

Been staying between 120 and 125 lbs these days, and I'm trying to accept that. I still wish I could be more like 110-115, but I just don't have the time/energy/motivation to make that happen right now.

I might still post recipes and periodic goals, or things about working out; so if you want to keep me on as a friend, or want to remove me, it's your choice.

Thanks to all for your support over the years.

notes: Logging food for a while. This will be a scary week, with holiday parties Thurs, Fri, and Sat. ugh. I'm going to try to work out Mon-Wed, and not drink unitil Thursday.

Last time I weighed it said 126, so I really have to start behaving.

I've started getting into Kombucha tea.
I'm still reading up on it, but it supposedly has a lot of health benefits.

Only pictures for now. :)
But sadly, I have none of the man in his HOT suit... nor any of us together. :(
But here's me... tonight... in my new dress.

HUGE friends cut.

I mostly deleted those of you who never post or haven't posted in a long time.

If you want to be added back, let me know. But I think I removed dead journals, for the most part.

So remember when I posted about my love for lovesticks?
Well, they also make crackers, which are basically lovesticks-turned-crackers.

I got some, and it's really hard not to keep eating them.

Especially since they're whole grain, vegan, and organic.

Nutrition info for candy!

Tootsie roll pops are only 60 calories. I'm going to have to remember that, for when I get my sweet tooth!

I made this last night and it's currently cooking away in the crockpot. So I haven't tasted it yet, but it smelled good!

Vegetable soup
4 cups vegetable broth
2 cups water
1/2 c. peas
1/2 c. corn
1 c. carrots, chopped
1 c. cubed butternut squash
1/4 c. lentils
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 green onion, chopped finely
3 stalks celery, chopped
2-3 tsp minced garlic
spices, to taste... I used: salt, pepper, oregano, paprika, dill, garlic powder, and parsley

Throw it all in a crockpot and let it cook on low for several hours. (Mine will be cooking for about 10, but I'm sure it doesn't need to cook that long.)

The really awesome thing: This only has about 600 calories for the entire pot!

A quick, easy, healthy, and yummy recipe. I threw this together last night.
I am not including incredibly specific measurements for everything, because seriously... I literally threw it all together, and it probably doesn't matter how much you use.

spicy whole wheat cous cous with tofu and beans
1/2 c. kidney beans
1/2 c. garbonzo beans
firm tofu, cubed (I think I used about 2 oz.)
about 1/2 c. vegetable broth
1/4 c. peas
spices of your choosing, to taste. I used: cumin, cayenne pepper, curry, and garlic powder

1 c. vegetable broth
2/3 c. whole wheat cous cous

Bring 1 c. broth to a boil. Add cous cous, cover, and remove from heat. Let sit for 5 min.
Toss everything else in a pan and cook over med heat, stirring occasionally, until hot.

yum.

(I think it would be good with some onions too, and maybe some shredded carrot. Maybe even a sprinkle of raisins and some nuts. This has a lot of potential, I think.)

Broke the fast.
Amusingly, had a vegetarian burrito from the taqueria.
It was good.
And you know... I don't feel too bad about it.
I still feel like I accomplished what I needed to.
I cleaned out for a bit and took a short break from food.
All good.

This is a chili recipe I concocted myself and tweaked to perfection. It's medium spicy, in my opinion, but my bf thinks that it can be quite spicy at times, since I don't always perfectly measure out the spices and tabasco and sometimes I'll add more than usual. But I like it that way. And it's great because it's full of protein and fiber and is so low cal!

Vegetarian Chili
2 onions, chopped
7 oz. can diced green chilies
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons hot sauce (add more if you like it hotter)
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
2 bell peppers, chopped (red or green)
1 tbsp chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (can use crushed red pepper)
8 oz can tomato sauce
6 oz can tomato paste
¾ cups water
4 15 oz cans of beans of your choice

Toss everything into a crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours.

Total calories: 1730, makes about 10 cups. (173 cals per cup)

I'm hiking this trail on Sunday! 7.3 miles, 1600 ft. in elevation change! It should give me a thorough workout (I did this trail about 2 years ago when I was really out of shape and it kicked my ass!), not to mention blow me away with the gorgeous scenery! I will definitely post pics!

yeah, well, yoga isn't going to happen again today.
it's after 5 and I'm still busy at work... I don't think I'm going to be leaving anytime soon.
and if I wanted to make the class, I'll have to leave in about 40 minutes.... no, that's not happening.
stupid work. :(

Alright, I've decided.

My finances have been in order lately and it's time to stop talking and start doing...

Next month I'm starting bikram yoga again!

I think a 10 session package is about $110... I can totally manage that. And I know they say you should do it every day, but I just can't fit that in my schedule... I'm going to shoot for twice per week.
